Mountain Biking at Lake Norman State Park

For the mountain biking enthusiast, Lake Norman State Park offers a varied terrain and wonderful scenery. Enjoy 30.5 miles of biking adventures on the trails. The Itusi trail is comprised of 8 loops which range from 1.0 to 9.75 miles in distance. All of these trails are considered easy to moderate, with the exception of Laurel Loop which is considered more moderate.

Enjoy views of Lake Norman, North Carolina’s largest man made lake, as you ride the trails. You may spot a variety of birds such as osprey and red tailed hawks, or you could encounter one of the animals species that calls the park home. Deer and fox are sometimes glimpsed on the trails.

If you want to make a weekend of mountain biking, Mooresville is only a short drive from the U.S. National Whitewater Center, which offers more than 30 miles of singletrack trails through the woodlands and along the Catawba River.

If you prefer to take a break from mountain biking, take advantage of the other awesome activities and attractions in Mooresville. Rent a kayak, StandUp Paddleboard, or boat and get out on the water.
