Some of the most popular spots in Mooresville for Instagram photos:
If you can’t get a memorable photo at one of our two animal parks, you might want to retire that camera! Easily our most instagrammed attractions, Zootastic Park and Lazy 5 Ranch offer abundant opportunities to get up close and personal with exotic species, so start snapping away! A great experience for kids and adults alike, we dare you not to wear a smile the whole time you are there.
Lake Norman State Park
Whether you are kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking with friends, or tearing it up on the mountain bike trails, Lake Norman State Park offers great opportunities for photos and fun on its 1,937 scenic acres of shoreline and forested trails. LNSP has one of the highest visitor rates in the state, with nearly 1 million visitors in 2018, and always tops our Instagram feed for local attractions.
The Quarry at Carrigan Farms
A waterfall spilling from granite cliffs into a pristine pool of water below? It’s basically what Instagram was made for! Mostly captured during weddings, Unity Falls creates a spectacular backdrop for wedding photos and bridal portraits. The Quarry is open to the public for Swim Days from the end of May until early fall, so you can get photos of your friends jumping from the cliffs or swinging into the water from a high rope swing!
The Wing Wall of Mooresville
When a local artist began painting giant wing murals on the side of an unused building in downtown Mooresville, no one dreamed it would catch on the way it has! Wildly popular on Instagram, #WingWallMooresville has been the backdrop for hundreds of photos for residents and visitors alike. Unfortunately the building is going to undergo renovation and the wall murals will not survive, but the Wing Wall Mooresville will have a new address soon at The Beer Lab just up the road! We will keep you updated on the progress, but if you want to take advantage of the original wall, go before the end of March to be on the safe side.
Cool Eats and Hangouts
No self respecting Instagram feed would be complete without food and drink photos! Luckily, we have quite a few places for you to indulge and snap a few photos while you’re at it. The Blue Parrot Grill packs in the lake loving crowd in the warm months (they are closed during the winter) for lakeside dining and drinks on the patio. The tiki bar gives the spot an island feel, as do the frozen drinks. For a favorite Instagram spot, hop in the giant beach chairs for a super fun photo!
Another popular spot includes two restaurants side by side. Alino’s Pizzeria and Barcelona Burger & Beer Garden call the old Burlington Industries Mill home, and the architecture adds a ton of charm to these eateries. Add in the luscious landscaping around outdoor dining, as well as great food, and you know why they are a favorite place for summer evenings.
Keep your craft loving friends jealous with a visit to one of our breweries or tap houses. King Canary Brewing, Ghostface Brewing, The Beer Lab, and OnTap offer great atmospheres along with their beer selections. Grab an Uber and take a tour of them all or just relax with a flight and learn more about their brews.
